Academic Grading Policy

Homework

- Students must complete all homework in order to take chapter test.

- Make-up tests due to incomplete homework will be decreased by 10% (of possible score).

- Full attempt on homework that is turned in on time will be given two points (a full stamp).

The third point of the homework (half stamp) will be given for the work and correctness of a

random problem from the assignment.

Notebook

- Students are to come to class with the day's notes printed out or copied into composition

notebook. Notes are available online.

Make up and late work

- Make up and late work must be completed within a week of the given date.

- Late homework will be given 1 point.

- Missed quizzes will be given the same grade as the corresponding chapter test.

Extra Credit

- Extra credit will be included in quizzes and tests and will cover any previously learned material.

- Group extra credit can be earned through active participation in assigned groups.

- Extra Credit cannot exceed 1% of total points.

Value of Assignments

- Homework 3 pts

- Quiz 20 pts

- Test 100 pts

- Final Exam 200 pts

A 90 - 100%

B 80 - 89.9%

C 70 - 79.9%

D 60 - 69.9%

Class Policy

• Respect others’ opinions and properties.
• Positive, responsible behavior is strongly encouraged.
• Negative, disruptive behavior will result in detention, referral, and/or parent contact.
• Food and drinks are not allowed in class. Water is acceptable.
• Come to class prepared with:

- Notebook for class notes (quadrille composition notebook or three-ring binder for notes)

- Calculator - Scientific for Algebra 2, Graphing for Calculus

- Paper, pencil

• All work must be shown for credit. No work, no credit.
• All work to be turned in must be done in pencil.
• Tutorial help is available from

- Ms. Do after school.

- Math lab before and after school Monday through Friday in room 822

6:30-7:25 am

2:30-3:30 pm

Please find help as soon as you are having problems. Do not wait until the day before the test.

• O - Volunteering in class, working with and helping other students,

exhibiting positive behaviors, having a positive attitude towards learning.

• S - Working on assignments as directed, not disrupting other students.
• N - Not participating, disturbing other students, disruptive behaviors.
• U - Excessive disruptive behaviors.
